Harvest Hen - Casta Lace

Harvest Hen features deep brown, yellow and orange splashes with a hint of grey from the Vespertine yarn base shining through. 

The Harvest Hen is a common field spirit in German folklore. It resembles a chicken (or rooster) and can be found perched in corn fields, eagerly waiting for children to peck their eyes out.

They are known to cause lightning and rain as well as take on numerous forms, including animals and humans. As a sacrifice to these agricultural spirits, the last grain heads and tree fruits are left in their place during harvest season. However, one must be cautious as direct contact with a Harvest Hen is said to bring illness.
