Queerdo is celebrating its 3rd year, and I (Misha from Nocturne) am beyond thrilled to officially be part of the chaos! While I’ve been behind the scenes before, this is the first year Nocturne is joining as a full-fledged Queerdo.
In total there are six exclusive colourways (two per dye studio), available on three different yarn bases. Each dyer picked their own base to bring to the party, inviting the others to experiment on bases that they normally don't stock. I chose to feature Spellbound, a luxuriously soft BFL-Silk base with a gorgeous shine. I am thrilled to see Ross’ and Aiden’s colourways on it!

About Breakbuddy:
For each skein sold, €2,- will be donated to Breakbuddy. An organization lead by Suus te Braak and Ryan Ramharak. They spearhead an initiative in which they match people that are on the (ridiculously long) waiting lists for Gender Care in the Netherlands with buddies that have gone through the same thing.
The funds we raise through Queerdo 2025 will be used to facilitate meetings and activities between buddies in which financial assistance is required or financial barriers are present.
About This Collab:
Ross and Aiden have been having a blast making vibrant colourways that celebrate Queer Joy and have succeeded in creating amazing skeins that represent the vibrancy and diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Queerdo is going to be super exciting this year as it's not just two dye studios but threeeee 🧚 of course Misha (from Nocturne) was already an integral part of Queerdo in previous years, having started their yarn journey (yaourney?) working as a dyer for Undercover Otter (they actually developed last year's best selling colourway!), and since they now do their own moody thang, we decided to make this a threesome 🥵
Each skein of yarn will be carefully dyed by hand, creating unique and one-of-a-kind color variations that are sure to inspire creativity and spark joy in every crafter who uses them.
But this collaboration means so much more than just creating beautiful yarn. It's about standing in solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community and using our platform to support and uplift their voices. As solo-preneurs, we firmly believe in the importance of human rights and inclusivity, and we are committed to doing our part to create a more accepting and loving world.
So, whether you're an avid knitter or just looking for a way to show your support for the LGBTQIA+ community, we invite you to join us in this exciting collaboration. By purchasing one of our exclusive hand-dyed yarn colourways, you can make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. Let's spread love, acceptance, and inclusivity one skein at a time!

Essential Information for buying our Hand-Dyed Yarns
When purchasing hand-dyed yarn, we recommend buying enough for your entire project.
Our yarn is handmade in small batches. While we follow precise recipes for repeatable colorways and carefully measure our materials, slight variations between skeins are inevitable. No two skeins will ever be identical, as is the nature of handcrafted products.
We take new photos for each dye lot, so images on our website may differ from skeins you’ve purchased in previous batches.
For a more uniform appearance in knitting, crochet, or weaving, alternate skeins every few rows.
We ensure all dyes are fully exhausted before rinsing our yarn. However, mild color bleeding can still occur, especially with bright, dark, or speckled skeins. To prevent unexpected color transfer, rinse your skein in cold water with wool wash and let it dry before starting your project.
For detailed care instructions, please follow this link.
This listing is for one (1) skein of yarn unless stated otherwise. Photos of multiple skeins are for comparison purposes, showcasing differences between yarn bases and/or skeins.
Please note that colorways may appear slightly different due to display settings on your device. Especially keep this in mind if you are using apple devices, which are known to alter colours. While we optimize our photography for color accuracy, viewing images on a monitor provides the most reliable representation.

Undercover Otter
Visit Undercover OtterAmsterdam, the Netherlands
Aiden Sielias (they/them) started Undercover Otter in 2011 as a side quest, and it grew into something much bigger. By 2018, Aiden had quit the office life, and became a full-time indie dyer.
Known for bright, saturated colors and hilariously strange names, Undercover Otter yarns are a favorite among crafters who like their fiber with a bit of attitude.
Whether you're into deep tones or neon brights, there's probably a skein that’ll catch your eye and make you laugh (or cringe) when you read the name. -

Ross Alexander (he/him) is originally from Scotland. The land of misty hills, woolly sheep, and a deep-rooted love of yarn that seems to run in his veins.
He launched The Wee Yarn Company in 2022 and his passion for dyeing quickly spawned a backyard studio. But as the yarn love spread, so did the need for more room.
Nowadays, Ross works from a spacious studio that serves as both dye lab and hag central. A cozy hub of creativity where all the color magic happens. The studio features a welcoming showroom packed with his delicious goods on full display. -

Misha Karaba (they/them) fell out of a house on chicken legs a few decades ago and started dyeing yarn at Undercover Otter in October 2020. Unbeknownst to them, this “temporary” job, until the suspension of pandemic embargos, would become an enormous part of their life and a creative passion that spiralled out of control.
In March of 2025 Misha launched Nocturne. An independent art studio, which primarily focuses on hand-dyed yarn and merchandise inspired by folklore, myths, and has a dark cottage-core aesthetic.
