Aurora

Fiber contents: 75% Superwash Fine Merino (19,5 micron), 25% Nylon
Weight per skein: 100 g / 3,5 oz
Running length: 420 m / 459 yds

Aurora is Vespertine's sister with a lighter base; It is a super soft yarn with a lovely spring in its fiber. The light cream colour of the base allows for colours to take particularly vividly, and gives the option of more delicate palettes and tones. The extrafine merino fibers are reinforced with nylon for additional durability. It creates a beautiful fabric without compromising the fibre strength and washability. The yarn is therefore great for knitting soft, comfy socks or any kind of garments or accessories.

Aurora means 'dawn' in latin, and I chose the name to complement and harmonise with Vespertine's twilight.

Spellbound

Fiber contents: 55% Superwash Bluefaced Leicester Wool, 45% Silk
Weight per skein: 100 g / 3,5 oz

Running Length for Fingering Weight: 400 m / 437 yds
Running Length for DK Weight: 225 m / 246 yds

Spellbound is a deliciously soft yarn containing Bluefaced Leicester wool and silk.

The silk provides the fibres with additional strength as well as a beautiful luster. The yarn is fantastic for any kind of project that calls for supple, draping fabric. It is well-suited for everyone who enjoys the Extra softness and durability.

The BFL and Silk combination in the yarn can cause a slight halo effect on the fabric over time. This is completely normal and is just a natural progression of how the yarn "settles", eventually it will go away on its own. In the meantime, it is safe to use a fabric shaver / gleener on the gentlest setting to maintain the garment. We recommend doing a spot test on the fabric beforehand.

Vespertine

Fiber contents: 75% Superwash Fine Merino (19,5 micron), 25% Nylon
Weight per skein: 100 g / 3,5 oz
Running length:420 m / 459 yds
Yarn Weights Available:
Fingering/Sock

Vespertine is a super soft yarn with a gorgeous heathered texture. The heathered look of the base lends depth and richness to colours and adds an additional sophisticated flair. The extrafine merino fibers are reinforced with nylon for additional durability. It creates a beautiful fabric without compromising the fibre strength and washability. The yarn is therefore great for knitting soft, comfy socks or any kind of garments or accessories.

Vespertine is a term used in the life sciences to indicate something of, relating to, or occurring in the evening. In botany, a vespertine flower is one that opens or blooms in the evening. In zoology, the term is used for a creature that becomes active at dusk, such as bats and owls. Vespertine behaviour is a special case of crepuscular behaviour; while crepuscular activity may resume during the dim hours of dawn, vespertine activity is limited to dusk and ceases during full darkness.

Eventide

Fiber Contents:  60% Superwash Merino | 20% Silk | 20% Yak
Weight per Skein: 100g | 3.5 oz
Yarn Weights Available: Fingering, DK

Running Length for Fingering Weight: 366 metres | 400 yards
Running Length for DK Weight: 212 metres | 231 yards

Eventide is a luxurious merino, silk and yak fiber blend. The grey base of the yak adds a deep sophisticated richness to the yarn, which is enhanced beautifully by the sheen of the silk. The colours come out vibrant and bold, with a beautifully heathered underlying texture. We love this yarn for its soft, plush feel which makes it delightful to work with, while the plied construction makes Eventide a little more robust than other yak-silk blends we've tried.

The silk provides the fibres with additional strength as well as a beautiful luster. The yarn is fantastic for any kind of project that calls for supple, draping fabric. It is well-suited for everyone who enjoys the Extra softness and durability.

The merino, yak and silk combination in the yarn can cause a little fiber shedding, resulting in a slight halo effect on the fabric over time. This is completely normal and is just a natural progression of how the yarn "settles", eventually it will go away on its own. In the meantime, it is safe to use a fabric shaver / gleener on the gentlest setting to maintain the garment. We recommend doing a spot test on the fabric beforehand.

Essential Information for buying our Hand-Dyed Yarns

When purchasing hand-dyed yarn, we recommend buying enough for your entire project.

Our yarn is handmade in small batches. While we follow precise recipes for repeatable colorways and carefully measure our materials, slight variations between skeins are inevitable. No two skeins will ever be identical, as is the nature of handcrafted products.

We take new photos for each dye lot, so images on our website may differ from skeins you’ve purchased in previous batches.

For a more uniform appearance in knitting, crochet, or weaving, alternate skeins every few rows.

We ensure all dyes are fully exhausted before rinsing our yarn. However, mild color bleeding can still occur, especially with bright, dark, or speckled skeins. To prevent unexpected color transfer, rinse your skein in cold water with wool wash and let it dry before starting your project.

For detailed care instructions, please follow this link.

This listing is for one (1) skein of yarn unless stated otherwise. Photos of multiple skeins are for comparison purposes, showcasing differences between yarn bases and/or skeins.

Please note that colorways may appear slightly different due to display settings on your device. Especially keep this in mind if you are using apple devices, which are known to alter colours. While we optimize our photography for color accuracy, viewing images on a monitor provides the most reliable representation.
